Large Intestine Energy and Your Child

The large intestine energy circuit plays an important role in your child’s system. The large intestine energy circuit is related to the other circuits we have discussed already, the lungs, the spleen and the stomach. In the Chinese medicine system, these organs and meridians overlap with each other and describe how the body as an intelligent system coordinates and synchronizes its activities.

One of the correlations that comes from the Chinese medicine system is the relationship between the digestive system and the respiratory system. As an example, the meridian in charge of the large intestine energy is the very same one used to access and have an influence on the sinuses and problems in the upper respiratory system. This is one of the reasons why I believe a holistic approach to your child is so valuable. It explains many of the associations among sets of symptoms which tend to occur together and it gives us a strategy we can use to better address and alleviate conditions and symptoms as they come up. This is something I think all parents should at least know about in order to better understand and take care of their kids.
